Roger Clarke

Originally trained as an apprentice mason bricklayer, this experience gave me a firm grounding for the landscape industry, which I entered 27 years ago, commencing my horticultural training in Durham then moving onto the parks department in Newcastle upon Tyne.
Gaining experience as a head gardener and working in the landscaping business has proved to be important in my 18 years of teaching.
I have consistently been graded highly by Ofsted and am an assessor and verifier in horticulture for City & Guilds.

My experience encompasses consultancy, talks, broadcasting and award winning garden construction at the Chelsea and Hampton Court Flower shows.
